EXTERIOR – POOLSIDE

Custom seating was designed and made in the style of Warren McArthur’s classic aluminum furniture from the 1930’s and 40’s.

The extension designed by Kevin Clark blends seamlessly with the original Gibbons’ designed structure.

INTERIOR – LOGGIA

The steel and glass doors retract into the walls in this indoor/outdoor space. The stick wicker was custom made and the bas relief dates to the mid-1930’s.

INTERIOR – BATHROOM

Designed by Kevin Clark, the new master bathroom is a tour de force of black marble and mirror. The sink stand is original to the house and the chandelier is by Leleu for Lalique, c. 1930

INTERIOR – BEDROOM

The rug, chair and ottoman were custom made in a style consistent with 1930’s furnishings. The drapes were embroidered by Michael Savoia with a custom design.

INTERIOR – SALON

The view beyond the built-in banquette is of the Santa Monica canyons with the Pacific Ocean in the distance.

INTERIOR – SALON

Although the overall aesthetic of the second floor Salon reflects a 1930’s sensibility, the room features Danish, French, Austrian, American and Italian furniture from 1910 to the 1960’s.

Decorative artist Jean Horihata painted the elegant grisaille palm trees directly on silver leaf tea paper.

The built-in bookcases were designed to faithfully replicate the details of the existing cabinetry.

INTERIOR – DINING ROOM

The parchment and mahogany table is by Arturo Pani, c.1940, and the rug is by Emile Gaudissart, dated 1925. Two of the dining chairs are Jules Leleu from 1930 – the others were reproduced to match the originals.
